50–50 (game show)

50:50 is a television game show which offers large cash prizes for correctly answering a series of randomized multiple-choice questions of varying difficulty. The format is first spin-off of the quiz Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. The format created by 2waytraffic and aired in many countries around the world.

Rules

In Round 1, the playing couple must answer ten questions. Each question is worth a different random amount, and all the money they win goes into their jackpot. If at any point they get an answer wrong, the value of the jackpot is halved. The couple plays together but must answer each question separately and can therefore change each other's answers. After the tenth question, the playing couple take their jackpot amount into the final, where they have a chance to multiply that amount by ten.

Only one player of the couple sees the question and its two answers, and they have just ten seconds to pick one. The host turns to second player and shows them the question and the answer that first player chose. They do not know the answer that their partner turned down. Player 2 must now decide whether to agree with Player 1's answer, or to choose the other answer, whatever it may be.

The host plays all five questions in the final in exactly the same way. Player 1, then Player 2 has to decide, and Player 2 has only seen one of the two choices. There are now five locked-in answers. Now Player 2 has to look at all five answers and make a crucial decision. How many questions do they think they have got right between them? The more they have correct, the higher the amount they can win, but they have got to be exact, too high or too low and the couple win nothing.
